Global Perspectives is a gripping course that is both cross-curricular and skills-based and taps into the way learners of today enjoy learning, including teamwork, presentations and projects.The emphasis is on developing the ability to think critically about a range of global issues where there is always more than one point of view. Students use research, reasoning and questioning to gain this understanding and form their own judgements. It is an opportunity for enquiry into, and reflection on, key global issues from different perspectives: personal, local/national and global. The course is not about getting everybody to think identically; rather it is a matter of opening minds to the complexity of the world and of human thought and encouraging empathy for the diversity of human experience and feeling.

Stuart This activity will be full of an array of interesting topics for this age group. From learning about our world to creative writing, drama & history. All led in the way only Stuart can do it. He will captive your boys and girls imagination and lead them into a magical world some days and other days he will take them on a history tale of what is going on at the time. If it is Christmas time Stuart will talk them through how different countries celebrate it and why. They will get creative and maybe create their own christmas story.   This activity is endless, it will go wherever the boys and girls take it with Stuarts guidance. Even if you boy or girl does not attend the Monday session they will be able to join in on this activity.

Learn how to confidently analyse and understand text, so that you can produce responses that are unique to you. We’ll make sure you access and express the information necessary to voice your ideas and to trust your own judgement when it comes to comprehension and all things English Literature and Language. Creative Writing: Have you ever wanted to be a writer but don’t know where to start? Maybe you already write your own poetry and short stories? Come and join a group of like minded young people where you can build your skills as an emerging writer. Join Stuart (our resident theatre coach) as he takes you through the multiverse of creative writing. Explore a plethora of genres and forms as you discover how to unlock and express your imagination. This is a safe and supportive environment where you can receive feedback and inspiration from your peers. Stuart will guide you through the structure of writing whilst encouraging you to follow your own instincts; as the quote says - ‘once you master the craft, you can break the rules’ creatively speaking of course!

Jacqui will guide all who attend to take deep breathes, learn how to still the mind and be present with ourselves. Jacqui is trained in Reiki 1 & 2, Angelic Reiki 1 and volunteers regularly at Barnes Spiritual Church. If you have a healing gift you are welcome to take this half hour session - please get in touch.
