Westway Sports & Fitness Centre 1 Crowthorne Rd, LondonThe physical benefits of yoga for young people are many and varied and include: building the strength of muscles and bones increasing muscle flexibility and mobility helping improve posture through healthy movement patterns and ideal posture alignment assisting in the development of coordination and balance developing skills for relaxing breath control awareness Some of the mental benefits of yoga for young people include: learning techniques to manage stress by redirecting thoughts and calming the nervous system improving decision making by teaching how to make choices that respect yourself and others developing concentration skills by finding the ability to focus through breath and bodywork helping provide a healthy body image by providing a strengthened internal perspective helping to strengthen self-image and self-esteem and to be in a place free from media and other cultural influences assisting in learning to manage stress, anxiety, and depression by providing a healthy way to explore the body and mind balancing the challenges of a social life, peer pressures, and other daily demands
